The opening of the Issyk-Kul Youth Forum of Intellectuals «Youth of the CIS - «A Look into Tomorrow» held in the Cultural Center «Rukh Ordo» named after Ch. Aytmatov on September 2, 2009.

About 150 representatives of higher education institutions, young scientists and members of youth movements from 20 to 30 years took part on it. For the first time representatives of all CIS countries participated in the Forum: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The event is dedicated to the memory of the writer and public figure Chyngyz Aytmatov.

The aim of the project is to promote the development of international youth cooperation in the CIS area and to strengthen interaction between youth of CIS member states.

The forum is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event is timed to the Year of Youth of the Commonwealth and will be held as part of projects implemented under the aegis and with the support of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS member states.

The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation, co-chairman of the Board of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states Shvydkoi Mikhail Efimovich, Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Abdullaeva Uktoktkhan Avazovna, Minister of Culture and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic Raev Sultan Akimovich, Director of the Department of Youth Affairs at the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Youth Affairs and Child Protection at the Government of KR Zhorobekov Aydar and Aytmatova Roza Torekulovna took part at the opening ceremony.
